About Us

RCATF is headquartered in the town of Chillicothe, Ohio and our mission since our inception in 1992 has been to promote HIV and AIDS awareness in Ross and surrounding counties throughout South Central Ohio. RCATF provides education, counseling, and financial support to HIV and AIDS sufferers and to their families. The purpose of this site is to serve as a comprehensive resource for anyone needing information or support related to HIV and AIDS.

Today HIV is a threat to men, women and children on all continents around the world. According to current estimates, there are now 34 million people worldwide living with HIV, including 3.3 million children. During 2011, some 2.5 million people became newly infected with the virus and 1.7 million people died from AIDS. In Central Ohio alone, someone becomes infected with HIV every 25 hours.

In the United States, there are an estimated 1.2 million adults and children living with HIV, with 1 in 4 new infections occuring in youths aged 13-24. When someone in the United States is infected with HIV every 9.5 minutes, clearly there is still an urgent need for education. Until these numbers reach Zero, The Ross County AIDS Task Force will continue its commitments of education and information.
